geeks have large hard drive

Sunday, July 23rd, 2006

Another quote for another week.

Geeks have large hard drive

I do not know which smart dude said that. Why? Because the quote came from a T-shirt. A girl’s T-shirt to be exact. It was kinda hilarious I would say. Still remember the way my girlfriend look at me when she saw that T-shirt. She always think I am a geek. Anyway, I leave it to everyone’s interpretation!

I believe that geeks do have large hard drive. Ha.

More Hedir game version 2 clues to be released in around 2 days. Then the answer to follow by the week following. Stay tune people.

godwin’s law

Monday, July 17th, 2006

Read this interesting (but somehow rather useless) law earlier today:

As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.

The person who said this is Mike Godwin. It is the first time I heard of his name anyway. But it sure makes a pretty interesting point with regards to online discussion.

I can state something intelligent also:

As a forum thread in Hedir gets longer, the probability of mentioning something regarding SEO approaches one.

Ha, suddenly I feel that I have an IQ of 234. Ha. Enough of the nonsense. For those who are interested to learn know, click here and let the Wiki enlighten you.
So far the feedback I had for Hedir Game 2 is that it is tuff, tuff and tuff. So In the light of that, redhex.hedir will find some way to offer some hints. Good news for all. Yeah, and there is more good news, Hedir game 3 has been decided and going to be implemented. A much easier one this time round.

So why no visit Hedir Game 2 now and exercise some brain muscles.

slight bug in hedir blogs

Saturday, July 8th, 2006

It just come to my attention that there is a linking error from hedir main pages to redhex.hedir

The post concern is my third post on quotes: given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow

It seems that the link on the main pages of hedir links to:

http://redhex.hedir.com/2006/07/05/given-enough-eyeballs-all-bugs-are-shallow/

while the actual link to the post is at:

http://redhex.hedir.com/2006/07/06/given-enough-eyeballs-all-bugs-are-shallow/

All I can say that I am at fault for being trigger happy. I clicked “publish” instead of “save as” and then proceed to change the date for the post to go “live”. Apologise for that error on my part. It seems that the integration script between the main pages and the blogs is not real time. Heck, it does not happen everyday.

Anyway, enough of these technical and buggy talk. To check out what you are missing, you can either try hedir game version 02 or read about the quotes that you had been missing. (Mouse over the links to read the quote!)

hedir game version 02

Friday, July 7th, 2006
Ladies and gentlemen,

After much delay, redhex.hedir proudly presents hedir game version 02. And how befitting that the theme for version 02 is Web 2.0. Pardon the pun. Much effort had been placed into sourcing good logos to be added into the game. As most of you know, Web 2.0 companies are not the most creative in designing extremely eye catching logos, preferring to let their services do the talking.

So without any more delay, here we go:

given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow

Thursday, July 6th, 2006

The title is the quote itself.

The owner of the quote is a legend himself in the open source arena.

Given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow

Taking the concept and apply it to hedir, can we here at hedir say:

Given enough eyeballs, all bad websites will be shallow

Anyway, go a google for that quote if you want to know who said that. Guess I will name all the quote owner at a later post.

another quote

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

Hi all in hedir,

Stumbled onto another quote today. It is for those who are not academicially smart and for those parents to be.

There’s other ways to fill your head.

The quote is not from anyone from hedir but from someone who had done a pretty good job in celebrating what the world have to offer.

I am honestly proud of what he had done and hence recommending his work to hedir via this simple post. As usual, there is nothing as a free lunch at redhex.hedir and so I will not show who am I refering to. He is not of hedir community but a worthy human being. I do wish I can meet him in person and shake his hand.

For those who wanna know who said that quote, do a google for it. Be amazed and entertain and inspired by his work.

one and only one hedir quote

Tuesday, July 4th, 2006

Happen to stumble upon a great line by someone here in hedir.

“We walk on the road paved by countless great work done by others.”

Sometimes it makes me wonder what great minds we have here in hedir.
So before any one of you happily goes off and do a search on that quote, why not try a guess here.

If you can wait and want to really find the brain behind that quote, do a google for it. Trust me, there is one and only one hedir quote.

I am tipping my hat for that special someone.
